Below you will find some of my accomplishments in the dog world.
Accomplishments:
- I have lived with dogs all my life. I was only 10 when I took over training the family dogs- several German shepherds, a dachshund, a various All-Americans.
- Completed CITA I and CITA II (Consultant Instructor Training Academy) classes given by Trish King of the Marin SPCA, a nationally known speaker and respected behaviorist. These classes included canine ethology and body language, dog aggression, recognizing and interpreting different types of behavior, dog breeds and breed types and their behavioral profiles, learning theory, how dogs learn, clicker training and professional standards for dog trainers.
- A member of APDT- the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and have earned a Certification of Pet Dog Trainer - CPDT. This is an international testing certification program for professional pet dog trainers. This certification program is based on humane training practices and the latest scientific knowledge related to dog training.
- Have been heavily involved in Australian Shepherd rescue for over 5 years: fostering, re-homing, evaluating and temperament testing dogs for Northern California Australian Shepherd Rescue (NCAR).
- Raised, trained and showed Quarter horses successfully for over 20 years.
- Titles earned in Obedience trials: 4 CDs, 3 CDXs, 1 UD (and one currently in training for her CDX and UD); multiple HITs and placements in Gaines regional & national obedience competition.
- Multiple titles earned in Agility with several dogs, in all venues: AKC, ASCA, NADAC, USDAA.
- Currently training two of my dogs for a TD (Tracking Dog) title.
